Tickets for the Grand Valley State University homecoming concert featuring rock bands, Mayday Parade and The Maine are now on sale at the 20/20 Desk inside the Kirkhof Center on the Allendale Campus.

Tickets for the Oct. 19 show are $10 for students, $15 for alumni, faculty and staff, and $20 for the general public.

Doors open an hour before the 8 p.m. general admission show, which is put on by GVSU’s student-run event programming committee Spotlight Productions.

Spotlight Productions music committee chair, Bradley Kosiba said the concert has gotten a lot of positive responses from students. “One student even started to cry, no joke.”

Kosiba said because this is the first rock concert GVSU has had in three years, he wanted it to be a good one.

“I wanted to up the ante when it came to the show we put on for our students because this year’s concert is what is called a ‘true double-headliner,’” he said. “It will be one of the biggest concerts this campus has ever experienced.”

Both bands have released a new album within the past year and are coming off of world tours, which should create more hype for the show, Kosbia said.

With only 3,600 total tickets available, and VIP packages already sold out, he said students should purchase their tickets early.

There is no limit for how many tickets students can purchase, and prices increase the week of the show.
