“The Barry Castro Lecture Series featuring Kim Horn” will take place on Oct. 24 from 6-7:30 p.m. on the Grand Valley State University Pew campus at DeVos Building E in the Loosemore Auditorium.

The lecture, “Morality, Money and Medicine: Thoughts on Universal Health Care,” will present Kim Horn, who, in the past, was at the top of insurance giant Priority Health, a well-known insurance company in Grand Rapids. Now she is the president of Kaiser Permanente Mid-Atlantic Region. She was awarded the title a “woman to watch” courtesy of Crain’s Detroit Business in 2010.

The event is part of Ethics Week 2012. For the past six years, the Business Ethics Center has had a speaker from the world of academia, business, or journalism to talk to the public about an issue.

The lecture series is named after Barry Castro, a former ethics professor at GVSU. He was a large part in helping the Center for Business Ethics in the Seidman College of Business. The center brings together faculty and local business people together to talk about ethics in the world around them.

Anyone is welcome to attend this event and it is free. To find out more, call (616) 331-7468 or e-mail Michael DeWilde at [email protected].
