Mayor Heartwell announces new effort to keep GV grads in Grand Rapids

In his State of the City address on Jan. 11, Grand Rapids Mayor George Heartwell announced that the city plans to team up with Grand Valley State University to find ways to keep graduates in the area. The partnership will include a course that will specifically study how to keep graduates in Grand Rapids by looking at what other cities are doing to engage college students. The course will be open to 10 GVSU students. The planned partnership is modeled after one between Boston College and the University of Boston.
