The Grand Valley State University women’s club ice hockey team was beaten twice over the weekend while competing in a home-and-home set against Michigan State University.

GVSU hung around in a close game at the Georgetown Ice Arena on Saturday night, but MSU was too much to handle offensively and escaped with a 5-3 win.

MSU also eked out a 2-1 victory on Sunday at the Munn Ice Arena in East Lansing, Mich.

The Lakers will return to action for another home-and-home test against the University of Michigan on Jan. 31 and Feb. 1.
