GV students win prize at innovation competition

Team Fluition, a group of five students from Grand Valley State University, competed in the Michigan Collegiate Innovation Prize and won the Masco undergraduate contest. The competition was held Feb. 14 in Ann Arbor. The team developed a device that helps hospital patients move from a sitting position to standing. Students began competing for the prize back in October 2013 in a product design class led by engineering professor John Farris.
