This Saturday, Grand Valley State University’s chapter of Student Veterans of America will be hosting a 5k run/walk on the Allendale Campus. The event is free and open to the public. Participants are asked to bring donations that will be given to homeless veterans who are served by Health Care for Homeless Veterans, which is looking for items such as new socks, hats, gloves and undergarments. Registration starts at 9 a.m. at the Cook Carillon Tower, and the race will begin at 10 a.m. This is the second annual 5k the group has hosted to support veterans.
