The Grand Valley State University women’s soccer team competed in its first game on Saturday since beating the University of West Florida in the NCAA Division II Championship in December.

GVSU kicked off its spring schedule with an exhibition game at home against Loyola University. The Lakers claimed a 1-0 victory, according to the official Twitter account of GVSU head coach David DiIanni.
