Introducing “What’s your problem?”

At Grand Valley State University, it is often stressed that students are welcome to bring concerns to the Student Senate, University Academic Senate or other administrators and governing bodies on campus. As a model for how students should participate in the democratic process, it is imperative that the university teach students how to be engaged, active citizens.

Many people forget that the Lanthorn can also work to bring attention to a problem and investigate into how it can be solved. After all, the Lanthorn is a college newspaper that is run by students, for students.

In an attempt to better serve the students of GVSU, the Lanthorn is introducing its newest campaign called “What’s your problem?”

We want to hear about issues you’ve run into at GVSU. Having trouble getting a problem with your classes solved? Wondering why the university doesn’t have a certain service that you think is necessary? Heard a rumor and want to know if it’s true or not? E-mail [email protected] and let us know.

While we can’t solve all of your problems, we can certainly investigate into an issue you’ve been having and see if we can help. This is not an advice column, but an open forum for voicing concerns about GVSU-related issues. E-mail us your questions and we’ll look into the issue for you.
