GV Hosts Math Tournament

Grand Valley State University hosted over 70 local middle and high school students the fourth annual Math-Team-Matics competition Saturday, Nov. 5. Teams of students from West Michigan schools competed in multiple mathematics challenges in a range of difficulties. This year, the competition included a team challenge with students working to solve a mathematical problem, individual tests, problem-solving relay race and a quiz tournament. The Grand Rapids schools of City High School and City Middle School won in the divisions they entered. ‘Good Kids’ Production

The Louis Armstrong Theatre in the Performing Arts Center will host performances of “Good Kids” throughout November. The play focuses on teen sexual assault and the effects facing the lives of survivors, offenders and bystanders. “Good Kids” will show Nov. 11, 12, 17, 18 and 19 at 7:30 p.m. and Nov. 13 and 20 at 2 p.m. The play is not recommended for children due to the content, including profanity, underage alcohol use, rape and sexual violence. Veteran’s Day Breakfast

Grand Valley State University President Thomas J. Haas will host the sixth annual Veterans Day breakfast for current and former service-members of the U.S. armed forces. Haas invites GVSU students, faculty and staff who’ve served in any branch of the armed forces to a breakfast with brief remarks.
