Alumni happy hour to take place Tuesday, Aug. 29

The Grand Valley State University Padnos International Center will host its “Global Laker Alumni Happy Hour” Tuesday, Aug. 29, at Monarch’s Club in Grand Rapids.

Study abroad alumni who choose to attend will be introduced to new friends or reunited with past ones, both from former study abroad trips and from international locations. A cash bar will be available, and all alumni are welcome to attend.

Campus Recreation to host backyard games Wednesday, Aug. 30

From 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 30, Campus Recreation will be hosting a backyard games event in the Kleiner Courtyard.

Grand Valley State University students who attend will be shown what Campus Recreation has available for them while playing games with their peers. There will be bowling, a balloon toss, golf putting and more during the event, which is open to all students.

College of Liberal Arts and Sciences offers walk-In advising

Students who are part of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS) at Grand Valley State University will be able to receive walk-in advising this week from 9 a.m to 4 p.m. in the CLAS Academic Advising Center, located in Mackinac Hall C-1-140.

The CLAS advisers will be able to help students with major choice, class schedules, post-grad options and general academic advising information. Walk-ins begin Monday, Aug. 28, and run through Friday, Sept. 1, with the next available walk-in date listed as Sunday, Sept. 17.

Campus praise rally to be held Monday, Aug. 28

Grand Valley State University’s Campus Ministry is set to host a campus praise rally Monday, Aug. 28, from 9 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. The rally will be held in the Kirkhof Center Grand River Room.

The campus praise rally will be an event centering around Christian worship. The music will be a combination of the genre’s latest releases and worship classics. Between set lists, there will be a brief teaching given by a GVSU minister.
