Award-winning magician Todd Migliacci set to perform at Kirkhof Center
Grand Valley State University is bringing award-winning magician Todd Migliacci to the Allendale Campus Thursday, Oct. 12, on the second level of the Kirkhof Center.
Todd has made memorable appearances at Disney World, Bentley University and the Carnival Cruise, where he wowed audiences in hard-to-believe performances. His unique ability to reach families, kids and teenagers with magic tricks, juggling illusions and comedy has earned him several accolades.
The magic show will begin at 9 p.m. in the Grand River Room of the Kirkhof Center.
'Walk with the President'
For the "Walk with the President" event at Grand Valley State University, GVSU President Thomas Haas will lead Lakers on a two-mile walk around the Allendale Campus.
The walk will take place Friday, Oct. 13, from 9:45 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Check in promptly at 9:45 a.m. at the Cook Carillon Tower and receive a free T-shirt for celebrating the benefits of exercise.

Dept. of Visual and Media Arts to welcome filmmaker Adam Shingwak
Grand Valley State University’s newly formed Department of Visual and Media Arts will present its very first visiting artist program, featuring filmmaker and artist Adam Shingwak, Sunday, Oct. 15, and Monday, Oct. 16.
Shingwak, who is originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, will be giving a screening and lecture on his film.
The screening will take place Sunday, Oct. 15, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Wealthy Theatre.

Strengths Leadership Series
The Grand Valley State University Office of Student Life is set to host the next installment of the Strengths Leadership Series Tuesday, Oct. 17, from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
The Strengths Leadership Series has three parts: discover, lead and work. The second run-through of the series—the installment Tuesday, Oct. 17—will focus on discover, which allows students to find their talents and maximize them.
