American Red Cross to hold blood drive at GVSU

The American Red Cross will hold a blood drive at Grand Valley State University Monday, Nov. 6, from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The blood drive will take place in the Kirkhof Center Pere Marquette Room. The Delta Zeta Sorority is hosting the event.

COO of Munson Medical Center to speak at GVSU

The Healthcare Professionals Graduate Student Alliance is sponsoring a presentation by Derk Pronger, chief operating officer of Munson Medical Center, Tuesday, Nov. 7, at 4:30 p.m. in the DeVos Center, Room 107C (University Club). Attendance is free, and students are encouraged to come and discuss topics in health care administration.

Nominations for ‘I am Grand Valley’ recognition open

Nominations for Grand Valley State University’s “I am Grand Valley” student recognition campaign opened Tuesday, Oct. 31. The recognition is for students who are involved in showing exceptional leadership qualities on GVSU’s campuses. The nomination period is open until Thursday, Nov. 30. Nominations can be submitted online at www.gvsu.edu/orgsync.

GVSU board meeting to take place 

The Grand Valley State University Board of Trustees will meet Friday, Nov. 3, at 11 a.m. in the Kirkhof Center. Items on the meeting agenda include the 2016-17 audited annual financial statements and the development division report. 

Seidman College named top business school

Grand Valley State University’s Seidman College of Business was named a top college to earn a Master of Business Administration by the Princeton Review. The Princeton Review analyzed more than 23,000 surveys from students and educators, and GVSU was named one of the top 267 business schools in the country.

GVSU Shakespeare competition to take place

The Grand Valley State University Shakespeare Student Competition and Awards Ceremony will take place Saturday, Nov. 4, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. in the DeVos Center’s Loosemore Auditorium. The event will honor recipients in categories such as critical writing, performing arts and others. The event LIB 100-approved.
