The Grand Valley State athletic department announced earlier this week that an hour-long “GameDay Special” will broadcast live from inside Lubbers Stadium on Saturday, Oct. 13, from 9 to 10 a.m. This special will preview that evening’s Anchor-Bone classic between GLIAC rivals No. 2 Grand Valley State and No. 3 Ferris State.

“This is an awesome opportunity for our on-campus community to rally together and create a great experience for both our football team and our fans,” said Deputy Athletic Director Doug Lipinski. “We want to give our fans a chance to enjoy the excitement surrounding this rivalry game and show the nation what we already know; that Grand Valley State has the best Division II fan-base out there.”

The live special will serve as a preview of the game including interviews with GVSU football players and coaches and in-depth analysis on the match-up. GVSU Football TV play-by-play voice Tom Cleary and Athletic Communications and Broadcasting Director Jake Levy will co-host the show.

As part of a “#FillTheHill” campaign, the GVSU community is invited to watch the show from the north end zone below the video board. The first 1,000 students will receive an exclusive custom GameDay Special T-shirt. With prize giveaways and special guests scheduled for the morning as well, all students, faculty, staff and fans alike are invited to kick off their game day Saturday Morning at Lubbers Stadium.

The game that the GameDay Special is previewing between the Lakers and the Bulldogs kicks off at Lubbers Stadium on Saturday, Oct. 13 at 7 p.m.
