Scholarship opportunities for non-traditional students can be sparse and competitive, but the Grand Valley State University Women’s Center will host a chocolate-drizzled fundraiser on Thursday to benefit their scholarship program.

The annual event, Indulge in a Cause, will feature an assortment of chocolate treats and a silent auction. The fundraiser begins at 5 p.m. Thursday in the Eberhard Center on the Pew Campus, and ends at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 for students and $30 for community members.

In addition to benefiting the Women’s Center’s scholarship fund, it will also benefit their endowment fund.

“As the Women’s Center celebrates its 10th anniversary, we are excited about our plans to sustain our gender justice and leadership education work,” said Marlene Kowalski-Braun, director of the Women’s Center. “Our annual fundraiser helps to make our vision a reality.”

Cabot Cheese, Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory and San Chez Bistro will provide desserts throughout the night. The silent auction will include a day spa package, an Apple iPad and a night on the town package in the Grand Rapids area. The event is co-sponsored by Founders Bank and Trust and the Grand Haven Area Community Foundation.

Reserve tickets by calling the Women’s Center at 616-331-2748 or purchase them online at www.gvsu.edu/women_cen/.
