eBook sales at Grand Valley State University are at an all time low due to price point and unpopularity. Although eBooks allow students to download and store all of their textbooks on one lightweight device whether it be a laptop iPad or other digital reading device students still prefer hard copies of their books.

Writing consultant named ECWCA Tutor of the Year

Johnson a professional writing major received an award certificate and a 200 prize for winning the East Central Writing Centers Association ECWCA Tutor of the Year Award at the annual ECWCA conference in March. Students of the Writing Center travelled to Indianapolis Ind. to attend the conference which was hosted by Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis.

Relay For Life aims to raise awareness

Grand Valley State University8217s Colleges Against Cancer organization is hosting the 10th-annual Relay for Life fund raiser April 13 to 14 in the Fieldhouse Arena. The actual relay event will take place from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. but teams can start setting up tents at 4 p.m. and the Survivor Banquet begins at 330 p.m.

GV boosts funding for DSR services

Grand Valley State University8217s Disability Support Resources program received 696684 for the 2011-12 school year to provide students with disabilities easy transport around campus. GVSU8217s Budget Office said DSR received about an 18000 increase from the last school year which the office said is probably due to salary increases for employees and the fringe benefit budget.
