'Connected' exhibit to create links among strangers

Forming connections with others is a vital part of being human. While some may find it easy to create new connections, others struggle to make the first move, especially after arriving to a large campus like Grand Valley State University for the first time. Erin Fisher, event and exhibit coordinator for the Mary Idema Pew Library on the Allendale Campus, knows exactly how essential connections are to new students and sought out a fresh way to bring strangers together.

Senior 'Bloom' exhibit shows artists' growth

A cumulative array of artwork from five Grand Valley State University illustration students was placed on public display just before their quickly approaching graduation. The name of the exhibit “BLOOM” represents for them the fruition of their artistic careers as well as the theme of nature in their artwork.

DJ Spooky visits GVSU

An experimental hip hop artist known as DJ Spooky hosted a public art dialogue and a classroom lecture at Grand Valley State University discussing his creative responses to urgent issues and modern technology’s influence on art culture.
