This summer, Grand Valley State University's New Music Ensemble will be taking part in the National Parks tour as part of the National Park Service's centennial celebration. The GVSU musicians will travel throughout several national parks, including Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons.

A Laker's legacy

On April 28, the Baltimore Ravens signed recent Grand Valley State University alumni Matt Judon as the first of their 11 total draft picks. After agreeing to a $2.595 million deal, Judon will most likely be used as an outside linebacker in the pros.

CELEBRATION FOR ALL

On Friday, the religious studies program at Grand Valley State University teamed up with the Kaufman Interfaith Institute to coordinate an on-campus celebration for the first-ever celebration of Holi, a Hindu celebration that welcomes spring by having participants throw colored powder and water on each other.

Grand Valley State University has been recognized nationwide for its sustainable practices. Our library has energy-efficient windows, our trash is sorted into three categories, the campus features LEED-certified buildings and the Lanthorn is printed on 100 percent compostable paper. To add to our list of sustainable efforts, GVSU's Farmers Market will be opening in June, presenting a unique opportunity for Lakers.
