GVSU football signs largest recruiting class in school history

Teams are built off of recruiting. Without a steady flow of the region’s top high school football players, teams would not be able to reload their rosters following the significant turnover that occurs at the end of each season. During last season’s signing period, Grand Valley State football added 31 players to the Laker family—a strong number—as well as 23 in 2016. If 31 recruits is good, then this year’s count of 44—the largest class in school history—is out of this world.

GVSU men's basketball to face Wayne State in final 'Downtown Thursday' matchup

With an 11-11 overall record (6-8 GLIAC), the Grand Valley State men's basketball team will have to play their best basketball during their last six regular-season contests to prove how successful they can be in order to clinch a spot in the GLIAC Tournament.  That first step to finish off the regular season starts against the Wayne State Warriors (11-8 overall, 9-5 GLIAC) in the final installment of the "Downtown Thursdays" series at the DeltaPlex Arena on Thursday, Feb. 8. Tip-off will start at 6 p.m., while the women’s game will start at 8 p.m.
