Young Life golf outing raises thousands at GVSU

Young Life, a non-denominational Christian organization working to teach middle schoolers, high schoolers and college students about Jesus Christ, hosted their 17th annual golf outing on May 11. Volunteers from the Eastern Ottawa group hosted the outing to raise money for their organization, which focuses on building friendships with students throughout the school year, no matter their religious belief. The golf outing specifically supported the 11 schools where Young Life staff members gather for ministry.

Swing Dance Club closes semester with performance

Grand Valley State University’s Swing Dance Club has made its way back into our calendars for the organization's annual showcase, closing the semester with a night of performing. The showcase will take place Saturday, April 14, at 8 p.m. in the Kirkhof Center Pere Marquette Room. T-shirts and carnations will be for sale as well.

Early approval period approaches for student organization funding

With such a large number of students, it’s no surprise that Grand Valley State University offers as many extracurricular opportunities as it does. According to the Office of Student Life, there are more than 400 student organizations on campus. But with so many opportunities for involvement, the money it takes to fund the organizations has to come from somewhere.
