GVSU track and field athletes spread out across country for several meets

The Grand Valley State track and field teams were spread out across the country from Thursday, April 13 through Saturday, April 15. Different athletes competed at five meets in states as far away as California. Being split up didn’t slow down the production. In fact, GVSU posted the largest number of qualifying marks in a weekend yet this season. Twenty-eight provisional and two automatic marks were hit in total, putting many athletes in strong positions to attend the national meet in May.

GVSU track and field opens outdoor season at CSU Invitational

The outdoor track and field season is officially underway. A small unit of Grand Valley State sprinters and hurdlers traveled to Charleston, South Carolina for the CSU Spring Break Invitational Friday, March 17, and Saturday, March 18, with hopes of hitting some early qualifying marks. The Lakers participated in six events and placed in the top three in all of them.

GVSU track and field fueled for 2017 outdoor season

The fire of dissatisfaction is roaring amongst the Grand Valley State track and field teams following the 2017 indoor national meet, but the displeasure has only inspired the Lakers for the outdoor season. The Laker women took second place and the men took eighth at the indoor national meet and both squads are eager to get the outdoor season underway to prove they are better than their indoor finishes.
