GV addresses wireless Internet problems

The Information Technology department at Grand Valley State University has recently made changes to the Internet Protocol (IP) addresses on campus in order to make connecting to the Internet more reliable and efficient for students. Kyle Nielsen, a network system engineer at GVSU, said the IT department had to allocate the IP addresses among different areas in order to make the network more manageable.






Tenured faculty at GV show commitment and academic mastery

As of Fall 2011, 582 faculty members at Grand Valley State University were tenured and another 252 were on tenure track. Tenured faculty at GVSU earn their status by mastering their subjects and going through a number of reviews, as well as succeeding in academics for a great deal of time, according to Gayle Davis, the provost at GVSU.


Fighting the flu at GVSU

Managing busy schedules while maintaining your health can be difficult to achieve as college students. The flu can come about when preventative measures are not practiced on a regular basis, so health officials are urging students to take precautionary measures to ensure a strong immune system and not spread the flu virus to other fellow students.










Obama vs. Romney: Outcome of election and international relations

Monday’s public debate between President Barack Obama and former Gov. Mitt Romney (R-Mass.) revolved around the issue of U.S. foreign policy and international relations. Both Obama and Romney presented similar views on international relations, yet differed in their style and interpretation of how certain foreign issues should be handled.


Nurse Practitioner week recognizes nurses nationally

More than 155,000 nurse practitioners (NP) practicing in the U.S today will be recognized during Nurse Practitioner week from Nov. 11-17, a national event that acknowledges their work and informs the public about the value of their job. Nurse practitioners provide access to affordable and high quality care, as well as services to alleviate the health care provider crisis.
