Art and Radical series to continue with Beatriz Santiago Munoz

Artist Beatriz Santiago Muñoz, based in San Juan, Puerto Rico, will continue “Art and the Radical,” an art lecture series, facilitated by the department of art and design at Grand Valley State University. The artist will discuss her work about exploring recuperation from trauma, regeneration, effect and how our connections to our past are actively produced, maintained and refuted.

GVSU senior art students create exhibition

Grand Valley State University art students Danny VanZandt and Annie Teall have created the exhibition Modes of Representation. VanZandt and Teall held a reception for their exhibition Thursday, Jan. 26. The work will be on display through Thursday, Feb. 2 in the Padnos Gallery in the Calder Arts Center on the Allendale Campus.

Grand Haven Musical Fountain

GVSU students to upgrade Grand Haven Musical Fountain

A group of engineering seniors at Grand Valley State University have taken on an extensive project intended to upgrade and enhance a well-known and favorite feature of Grand Haven, Michigan–the Grand Haven Musical Fountain. Jordan Tatchin, Brett Johnson, Brett Bunton, Allie Graff and Luke Hubbard are working with GVSU faculty to improve the already existing physical features of the fountain and add new ones for an updated appearance.

GVSU photography students create senior thesis exhibition

Grand Valley State University photography students Sue Ackerman, Kristen Hollingsworth, Amanda Lautner, Brianna Overkamp, Autumn Perez, James Redmond, Nicole Trost, Chelsea Whitaker and Mallory Wolfgram have collaborated on the senior thesis exhibition, "Phosphorescent." Currently on display at the GVSU Art Gallery in the Performing Arts Center on the Allendale Campus, "Phosphorescent" features a variety of themes and images, all reflecting personal interests and experiences of the photographers. The exhibition will be open to the public through Friday, Dec. 9.
