Alumnus and Fox Sports Detroit broadcaster John Keating speaks at GVSU

He covers the Detroit Red Wings, the Detroit Tigers, occasionally the Detroit Pistons, and at one time, Grand Valley State University. His name is John Keating, and he was back on campus to speak to students about the sports broadcasting industry and his career this past Friday, Jan. 27 from 3:30 to 5 p.m. at Lake Superior Hall, Room 174. Keating shared advice on breaking into the industry, personal anecdotes and answered questions from students during the 90-minute lecture.

No matter which team wins the 2016 Major League Baseball World Series, a long championship drought will end for one team. GVSU baseball crowned GLIAC champions

The Grand Valley State baseball team entered the GLIAC Tournament as the top team in the conference. The Lakers finished Sunday night in the same position. The Lakers won the GLIAC Championship game in a thrilling 6-5 victory over Walsh on May 15. GVSU rattled off three straight wins after a loss in the second round of the double-elimination tournament.
