Versatile guard Chris Dorsey finds way into starting lineup in first year with men's basketball

Grand Valley State junior Chris Dorsey is a man of many talents. He can score, pass, play different positions, defend the rim and just about anything else on the basketball court. His most important talent, though, transcends the hardwood. Leading a fast break down the floor? Forget about it. Feeding a perfect pass to a teammate? That’s definitely up there. No, Dorsey’s most impressive talent is his ability to do one thing: work hard.

Ferris State routs GVSU men's basketball 98-73

The Ferris State Bulldogs are billed as one of the top teams in the GLIAC, and they lived up to that hype Monday night against Grand Valley State. The Bulldogs (18-3, 12-2 GLIAC) won their 13th straight game in a 98-73 rout over the Lakers Monday, Jan. 30 at the GVSU Fieldhouse. The Lakers, who have now lost two out of their last three, dropped to 13-8 (9-5).

GVSU men's hoops goes 1-1 in Upper Peninsula road trip

The last time the Grand Valley State men's basketball team was in the Upper Peninsula, the team bus got hit by a snowmobile. This time the bus traveled there and back unscathed, and the Lakers split a two-game road trip to the UP. The Lakers fell to the Michigan Tech Huskies 72-64 Thursday, Jan. 26 in Houghton, Michigan. GVSU rebounded with a 79-56 win over the Northern Michigan Wildcats Saturday, Jan. 28 in Marquette, Michigan.
