Campus Interfaith Resources coordinates mosque visit

For many people on campus, visiting a place of worship for a faith they are unfamiliar with may be a rare or even nonexistent occurrence. To increase awareness of different religious faiths, Grand Valley State University's Campus Interfaith Resources will be hosting a visit the Masjid At-Tawheed mosque on Friday, Jan. 26, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Students can make reservations online or by contacting Campus Interfaith Resources.

The Muskegon Museum of Art will be opening its annual “Art Talks Back” poetry competition on Thursday, Jan. 25, and will be accepting submissions through Thursday, Mar. 29.

Comedian Jim Norton to perform in Grand Rapids

Once the chaos of the holidays settles down and mid-January hits, many people feel at a loss for fun things to do. For those who need a little bit of a boost on a dull winter day or just a break from their studies, comedian and podcast host Jim Norton will be coming to 20 Monroe Live in Grand Rapids on Saturday, Jan. 27. 


GVSU professor to star in world premiere of 'Anton, Himself'

This weekend, the Grand Valley State University theater department will be hosting the world premiere of the play "Anton, Himself: First and Last." Theater professor Roger Ellis will be performing as Russian playwright Anton Chekhov on Friday, Jan. 19, and Saturday, Jan. 20, in the Haas Center for Performing Arts.

GVSU hosts discussion for Stalking Awareness Month

January is Stalking Awareness Month, and the Grand Valley State University Gayle R. Davis Center for Women and Gender Equity decided to help make GVSU students aware of this with a presentation held Tuesday, Jan. 16. The hour-long presentation informed a small group of Lakers about the dangers of stalking and resources available on campus.
