Delta Phi Lambda to host Global Gala Cultural Showcase

The Global Gala Cultural Showcase, sponsored by Delta Phi Lambda Sorority Inc., is held every year at Grand Valley State University. Student organizations gather to put on performances during a three-hour extravaganza. This year, the cultural showcase will take place Friday, Nov. 17, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. in the Kirkhof Center Grand River Room.

Revive hosts annual conference

Approximately 30 attendees gathered to experience the annual conference hosted by the student organization Revive at Grand Valley State University Saturday, Oct. 21, in the Kirkhof Center. The conference, which focused on issues affecting minority populations, was a combination of five sessions co-sponsored by the Omicron Alpha Chapter of the Sigma Lambda Gamma National Sorority Inc.

Gearing up for Campus Life Night

More than 400 registered student organizations will be represented at Grand Valley State University's Campus Life Night this year.  The annual event, designed to showcase GVSU's many student clubs and organizations and connect incoming and returning students with extracurricular opportunities, will be held Tuesday, Sept. 6, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in Parking Lot H.

Taking steps against sexual assault

In solidarity to victims and survivors of sexual assault, more than 300 Grand Valley State University students marched around campus Tuesday, April 11, to support the GVSU Interfraternity Council’s (IFC) semiannual “Steps Against Sexual Assault” event.

GV Gamma Phi Beta hosts tournament to benefit 'Girls on the Run'

Maintaining a healthy and active lifestyle while studying at college can prove to be a challenge. With this in mind, Grand Valley State University's Gamma Phi Beta chapter hosted the first annual GVSU "Moonball: Blacklight Volleyball Tournament." The Moonball event, which was held Saturday, Feb. 25, gave participating teams the chance to compete for a monetary donation to their philanthropy of choice. Proceeds from the event went to the Girls on the Run charity, the sorority’s philanthropic partner.

Valentine's for a cause

The popular phrase “children are the future” was honored by the Grand Valley State University sorority Phi Mu Wednesday, Feb. 8, when the Greek organization volunteered at Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital. The organization’s event at the hospital involved the sorority members making Valentine’s Day cards with the children. It was said by Phi Mu members that activities like this allow the children to feel an escape of sorts from the daily struggles of their illnesses.
