GVSU swimming and diving trains in Florida over winter break

Winter break may have been snowy for most Grand Valley State students, but some lucky student athletes got the chance to come back with a few tan lines—and a ton of memories. The GVSU men's and women's swimming and diving teams traveled down to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, for a week of intense training at Nova Southeastern University. For head coach Andy Boyce, this trip is a great opportunity for his athletes to improve.

GVSU swimming and diving teams dominate in Calvin Invitational

Christmas came early this year for Grand Valley State's swimming and diving as they entered the holiday season.  The Lakers took a quick bus ride to Grand Rapids to compete against eight different schools in the Calvin College Invitational on Thursday, Nov. 30, through Saturday, Dec. 2. GVSU placed first for both men and women over the three-day invitational. The women finished with a total team score of 1,772.5 points, while the men totaled 2,100 points


Quick hits: Volleyball All-GLIAC team honors, swimming & diving victory over Ball State

Although they had a successful regular season, the Grand Valley State volleyball team ended their playoff and season hopes at the GLIAC Quarterfinals match against Wayne State on Wednesday, Nov. 15. However, four Laker volleyball players didn’t end their season empty-handed, as senior Katie Olson, junior Staci Brower, senior Sydney Doby and junior Shannon Winicki were all awarded All-GLIAC team honors, announced Saturday, Nov. 18.
