GVSU track and field fueled for 2017 outdoor season

The fire of dissatisfaction is roaring amongst the Grand Valley State track and field teams following the 2017 indoor national meet, but the displeasure has only inspired the Lakers for the outdoor season. The Laker women took second place and the men took eighth at the indoor national meet and both squads are eager to get the outdoor season underway to prove they are better than their indoor finishes.

Transfer Chant'e Roberts fitting in nicely with GVSU track and field

Being ranked No. 1 in the country doesn’t happen by accident in the track and field community. Grand Valley State’s women’s team has displayed top-level performances in many events and with many different athletes. But one athlete in particular has pushed the Lakers to the top. Chant’e Roberts, a transfer from Eastern Michigan, was not a part of the GVSU team that finished third in the country during the 2016 indoor season. The junior has made the difference in this year’s team.

Nesbitt, GVSU seniors shine at Tune-Up Meet

The Grand Valley State track and field Tune-Up Meet provides a last chance opportunity for athletes to earn a spot at nationals. For the Lakers specifically, it also serves as a chance to recognize the senior class as they compete in the final home indoor meet of their careers.
